This view provides perspective into why the antenna is moving. The view from the back window of the house to the sunset is quite spectacular.
My original 16 foot antenna location on the right was directly in the way. Putting a DX Engineering 43 foot antenna in its place was out of the question.
So my wife and I compromised. I selected a location near the left edge of the property and blocked by those trees. The trees hide the antenna from the sunset view.
I won’t be able to lay a radial field quite like I want, but I will have plenty of them. Most will be 30+ feet long.
Yes it is a shame to not be using a big backyard like this to its fullest with a “proper” antenna radial field, but sometimes you have to compromise.
