Complete LFA Assembly

Elements on boom, the LFA is ready to clamp tight and use.

This is the final view before installation of the 6m Copper LFA Yagi-Uda antenna using PVC Tee fittings and an aluminum boom.

Stainless Steel hose clamps “squeeze” the PVC tee fittings to the aluminum boom.

The four PVC Tee fittings have a 1/4 inch gap removed from the top of the T that touches the boom section to provide room for the “squeeze” action. It is quite possible the PVC will break after repeat use. Time will tell.

After some use I find the PVC with clamps does hug the boom reasonably well, but you can still move the elements by hand. One solution to this might be to line the PVC to Boom interface with a thin rubber sheet.

There comes a point where more formal boom to element techniques become the more logical choice.
