For my first NMO antenna, I kept things simple. I choose a basic stainless whip for VHF only. No extra coils. No extra anything. This is just one whip with the NMO base.
This antenna comes in two parts: The whip with rubber gasket and the metal NMO adapter.
The rubber like gasket creates the final seal that makes the entire NMO system weather tight.
